Here it is thanksgiving day a holiday for most For those who are grateful for what they have today Can share the real meaning of being the host Of friends or family or a stranger who passed this way
Pilgrims came to Plymouth's shore on the sailing ship And learned from the native people to grow their food They divided the land for each at the end of the trip And shared all work and rewards for the common good
Then some failed to do their share of proper farming There was no incentive the leader sensed the reason No matter how they worked or didn't it was alarming Resentment filled their hearts every harvest season
So they issued land to each equal in amount of acres Farmers grew and sold their goods and got their pay And thus started free enterprise for all the takers Private ownership of land, a value that stands today
So we have the right of ownership and the freedoms too Something to really be thankful for with liberty to boot The pilgrims paved the way for Americans to be true Capitalists and not colectivists, now ain't that a hoot.
Happy thanks giving to all. May God bless you and make your lives fulfilled.
