Here it is just a few days away from my birthday and I have not posted anything for months.

When a poet writes
sometimes it's a ditty
Which can be serious
or just plain witty
And when he quits his craft
It is surely a pity
I found a blank page
and put on some verse
From a sow's ear
you can't make a silk purse
I know you'll be pleased
'cause it could be worse

I could have died and left
no one knowing my fate
But it is always better
to show up a little late
Than to skip out all together
in an unknown state.
