Love is a lot like a really bright diamond With its many facets cut with such perfection To bring forth its amazing inner beauty by light That it turns into brilliance with its reflection
Where each facet in the base acts just like a mirror Casting back to the viewer the un-escaping light Like love that gives back more than what is given The un-escaping feelings that burst into flight
And surge into the midst of those who may not be Thinking that the love is even there for the taking But surround the heart of the one who is loved When they had no idea that steps were in the making
Like the diamond in the rough that really has nothing But the power inside to be polished into a jewel The gift of love gives power to the receiver then It's given back in full unless the loved is just a fool
But like the diamond, though valued and precious too It can also be cleaved away by changes in the heart As the precious stone can be broken by carelessness So can love be severed by one not true to cupids dart
So love really is like the diamond with value untold When cut and polished into the wonder jewel of all So love me true with each and every beat of your heart Fill my mind with its glory and I will answer the call

I hear at times when with friends and others Comments which are harmful if not full of spite
Things are said that you would think ill mannered And you know instictively that they're not right
Insensitive words that cut deep into ones heart That make you wonder what they could be feeling
You know what I mean when I speak of remarks That would send your mind and senses reeling
Uncaring words I think a friend would never say If they felt at all what or how you'd feel
But none the less the words come crashing forth And can throw you off your normal even keel
Even though the hurt goes deep and you react With shock and dismay from the words so terse
And they try to take back what they have said To make amends the feelings can still be worse
Because you know that the unthinking words Spring from subconscious thoughts usually true
You find out what the other person feels inside Though you thought they really cared for you
So my friends, I would advise that you keep The feelings of others in your heart and mind
And only choose to say to them on all occasions The words that are always thoughtful and kind
Harmony comes from the careful choice of words That makes others feel like such special friends
Words that fall so very gently on their minds Words for which we will never have to make amends

Onto this shadow dot we're cast On universe's finite speck of dust To wake and sleep while all is passed To give and grasp, to love and lust
To spend our time in new found joy Or spend it all in baseless fear Accepting life's amusing ploy Or fighting all that's gone or here
Keeping time with the common beat Join the sing along with the hummer Or march through life on silent feet List'ning for a different drummer
'Tis into riches some are born And others into sorrow's plight Where fortune falls upon the morn' Or in the depths of pauper's night
Where matters not in light of life Only if we spend in growing The time we spend in joy or strife For the making of our knowing
In growing hours as children play To waste away the childhood time In frolic through a sunlit day They are acting out a pantomime
Out on the playground structures set They're idle in the sunset's glow O'er the sagging tennis court net Only the empty fading shadows flow
Where we were with a future unknown Thoughts of what we'll do tomorrow What will grow from seeds we've sown And what will come of dreams we borrow
As we look at daylights morning ebb Or at the bright and sunny afternoon The dew drop on a spiders web mocks the light of the midnight moon
There's confusion in the lonely why Why we be left only to ourself Of time and love that passed us by Like an untouched book on the shelf
How do we truly face the ugly time With Gallant ease or not at all With the bitter taste of the lime Or softness like the leaves that fall
And how do we face our fearsome battles All, with our unending courage or With hate, fear and saber rattles And what end have we fought them for.

Here we are on the precipice of The mind's great chasm of life With the thoughts of all the Pressures that give us daly strife
Where words come into our minds Through what we read and hear Those that make us very happy Or those that can cause a tear
The words of a poem or a song That lingers in our thinking And makes us feel great joy Or like our life is sinking
Why would we then fill our selves With the words that make us fall Instead of filling up our mind With the words that make us tall
We read and listen to the language That fits our interpersonal script Even though what we hear or read May make is feel beat and whipped
Why do we then, torture ourselves By listening to sad mournful songs When if we listen not our mood will Swing to the happiness that belongs
In its' truly rightful place in the thoughts within our mind We wallow in our guilt and keep The horrid sadness there in kind
When we shed the past from our doings and straighten out our being Sad songs have no effect on us For we've erased the bad we're seeing
And purity fills our new self image Because the past is truly gone away And cannot haunt us in our thinking For we know that we will never stray
From our new paradigm of loving care For the love of our life on going For now we share our intimate time With only one who's love is showing
So now we settle in our thoughts And know that what is gone is past And we can share the happy days With our one love that will last

When Darkness fell on October's last night
The black hatted witches all took to their flight
The goblins and ghosts all came 'round to haunt
While weird faced monsters went out on their jaunt
Warlocks and ghouls were rattling some chains
While werewolves scratched on some window panes
It is fright that fills my mind once more
When I hear those monsters knocking on my door
When I opened the door 'twas to my surprise
It was just trick or treaters in their scary disguise.
