Ramblings of an old soul

So you like socialism do you

Tonight on the History channel there was an historical program on Joseph Stalin and the former USSR. In order for socialism to exist all those who were opposed to it openly were killed. Over 40 million soviet citizens were murdered by the socialist government during the time that Stalin was their leader. Think about that number for a moment. That is more people than live in the state of California. Which kind of over- whelms me. When you realize that the state of California, if it were a country would be the 6th largest economy in the world. We the people should never invest so much power in our government that they could set up a dictatorship which would control all the events of our lives.
History can only repeat itself if we remain ignorant to what has passed before in our lives. When you think about how politically naive we are as a people, it is frightening. Tests have been conducted that show that less than 50 percent of our population can tell you who the vice president is, don't you think we should be concerned about our future. Remember folks it is not the government we should fear but ourselves who might leave our future to politicians.

Child Pornography, a cancer in our society

I read with interest an article written by Maureen Dowd of the New York Times. In it she claimed that Dick Cheney was peeking into our private affairs and had no business caring about pornography. I don't know about you the reader but for me personally, I think they should take anyone involved in Child Pornography out in the public square and behead them. Maybe Ms. Dowd likes child pornography, maybe she gets her kicks watching a 5 year old girl giving a 9 year old boy a B.J. Some how we need to recognize that those who have nothing to hide are not complaining. What is she hiding? She had nothing negative to say when Bill Clinton was getting his kicks from Monika. She had nothing to say when The former Miss Arkansas came forward and charged him with rape. She had nothing to say when Bill lied under oath about exposing himself to Paula Jones in an Arkansas Hotel room. It is my firm belief that Ms. Dowd should be fired from the N.Y. Times because as a reporter she cannot be trusted to be unbiased. R. B. Jeffrey AKA The old soul

 Two of man's greatest truths

Truth number one: Mankind has been given the talent to be good or to be evil. The evil side is kept in check by the morals of the society in which we live. Truth number two: When men are allowed to foster unchecked evil they are bound to create a great deal of trouble.

When we think of social systems and the development of societies, and look at the history of mankind in a social setting, the morality of that society follows directly from the behavior of women. This is not to say that men are controlled by women, not in the least. But, men have a tendency to do anything they can get by with where women are concerned. If women allow men to do any thing they want the male will certainly take advantage of the situation. If women are given no power in a society then the men will tend to be evil instead of good.

End of rambling.

 My First Blog Post

It seems to me that the members of congress are promoters of activity by lawyers. For instance, it is almost impossible to obtain a Patent through the U.S. Patent office if you don't have a patent attorney.

Laws passed by lawyers who were supported in their run for office by the members of the several associations of lawyers are meant to keep the lawyers in good financial shape.

It is my opinion that laws should be written in plain english so that the substance of the law and its text could be published in the newspaper and anyone who can read at the 11th grade level should be able to read and understand it. Jack and Jill ran up the hill to fetch a pail of water Jack fell down and broke his crown and a lawyer sued Jill's family for Jill talking Jack into making the trip.
