Ramblings of an old soul

Here I am, Rambling on again

You found me.

There I was wandering in the great forest of ideas and ran across another doing the same. Somehow the ideas of similar minds can sometimes never come into contact with each other. Then again they may accidentally meet in the consciousness of another's writing. The underlying learning that becomes the foundation of our thinking can sometimes thwart our ability to think objectively about any thing.

Our politics is one of those things that can thwart our ability to think from an objective point of view. The truth is just what it is. And if we allow ourselves to be caught up in the political lie and have that lie color our judgment, then we become irrational thinkers.. Unless we are willing to admit to our intellectual failing when we consider politics, then we become slaves to the liar.

Poetry can say so much without perfection

I wakened to the morning light, through my window streaming
And heard the call of nature then, and knew I wasn't dreaming

The call was from a mocking bird sounding like a meadow lark
The dawn had come upon the earth and freed us from the dark

Earth received the morning rays from the brightness of the sky
I looked upon the morning scene as flocks of birds passed by

Every where around me I can see the early signs of spring
That budding of the rose bush and Iceland poppies bring

Soon the daffodils will show since the crocus are in flower
All this we often take for granted, God's awesome show of power

Change, our enemy or our friend

The person this is written for will know that it is for her.

All who walk the face of earth and tread the soil below there feet
Will do one thing like all others do and come face to face with change

All the comforts we have in our lives can in an instant disappear
No matter how in our lives, we try our very best to at last arrange

Those things we least expect to happen to the person we call our self
Interrupts our personal chain of events from which we can’t estrange

Though we prefer to be in charge of all our life’s important events
We find at times the give and take of life allows the interchange

Of our power for the skill of others who’s skills can match the very best
So in there hands what we face is the friend we find in change.

Let not you heart be troubled or you mind be in distress my friend
For change the enemy, is not to come your way , and time is fast

Loose no sleep nor stress yourself in the decision you have made
‘Twill not be the first of stressful times nor will it be the last

And you will be all the better for what you’re going to face
For life is just a change away from being better than the past

For you are sweet to those you love and they’re the same to you
And God will hold your hand in His, with Him your future’s cast

 In Search of

In Search of.

In search of myself I found you
And no longer found it necessary

In search of love I found you
and the fulfillment of my dreams

In search of life I found you
and found the reason for living it

In search of happiness I found you
and found the purpose of my search

Something is wrong - - what could it be?

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting one of our local high school history teachers. As you may imagine, being an old soul, we had quite a conversation. The shocker came when we began a conversation on the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln. He told me that the current text had three chapters on the Clinton Presidency, and only six pages devoted to our 16th President.

Wow, something is wrong here. I just can't figure out what great social advances Mr. Clinton brought to our country. A man so smart that he was a Rhodes Scholar, but so stupid that he believed all his own lies.

Plus his stupidity also ran into economics. He believed we could tax ourselves into prosperity.

DUH!!!!!!
