Ramblings of an old soul

 My name is Mary Jo

My name is Mary Jo Kopechne. I would have been 65 years of age this
year. Read about me and my killer below:

When Sen. Ted Kennedy was merely just another Democrat bloating on
Capitol Hill on behalf of liberal causes, it was perhaps excusable to
ignore his deplorable past.

But now that he's become a leading Republican attack dog, positioning
himself as Washington's leading arbiter of truth and integrity, the days for such indulgence are now over.

It's time for the GOP to stand up and remind America why this chief
spokesman had to abandon his own presidential bid in 1980 - time to say the words "Mary Jo Kopechne" out loud.

As is often the case, Republicans have deluded themselves into thinking that most Americans already know the story of how this "Conscience of the Democratic Party" left Miss Kopechne behind to die in the waters underneath the Edgartown Bridge in July 1969, after a night of drinking and partying with the young blonde campaign worker.

But most Americans under 40 have never heard that story, or details of how Kennedy swam to safety, then tried to get his cousin Joe Garghan to say he was behind the wheel.

Those young voters don't know how Miss Kopechne, trapped inside
Kennedy's Oldsmobile, gasped for air until she finally died, while the
Democrats' leading Iraq war critic rushed back to his compound to
formulate the best alibi he could think of.

Neither does Generation X know how Kennedy was thrown out of Harvard on his ear 15 years earlier -- for paying a fellow student to take his
Spanish final. Or why the US Army denied him a commission because he
cheated on tests.

As they listen to the Democrats' "Liberal Lion" accuse President Bush of "telling lie after lie after lie" to get America to go to war in Iraq, young voters don't know about that notorious 1991 Easter weekend in Palm Beach when Uncle Teddy rounded up his nephews for a night on the town, an evening that ended with one of them credibly accused of rape.

It's time for Republicans to state unabashedly that they will no longer "go along with the gag" when it comes to Uncle Ted's rants about deception and moral turpitude inside the Bush White House.

And if the Republicans don't, let's do it ourselves by passing this
forgotten disgrace around the Internet to wake up memories of what a
fraud and fake Teddy really is.

The Democratic Party should be ashamed to have the national disgrace
from Massachusetts as their spokesman.

 Food for thought Re Iraq

For those of you who think we are in the wrong place at the wrong time, think this over.

If the Iraqi people wanted us out of their country, all they would have to do is stop all violence and let the legeslative system take hold. When all the fighting stops we will simply pack up and go home.

The terrorists want us there so they can stir up trouble in the muslim communities arround the world by the use of propaganda. It is very easy to demonize someone or some government if you already have a base of hateful people.

According to the Islamic jihad, we are the infidels. They need a continuous pouring salt in the wound, so to speak, in order to recruit suicide bombers and other people to kill the infidels.

When and if the Islamic peoples get thoroughly educated and they find out that their own religion does not call for killing inocent people, then the real peace process will start. As long as their leaders can keep the women from learning how to read, the women will give up their children for the "cause".

 How lucky can one be.

Today was a half work day and half fun day. It went something like this.

Up in the morning before the rising sun
Ready for the day, there's work to be done
Out of the house for a meeting at nine
We're invited out for some cheese and wine

The morning went well and I finished soon
Then went to the club just after noon
Had lunch with friends, it started to rain
A storm passing through, it was quite a pain

The rain let up and we went out to play
Some golf in bad weather we went any way
It rained only lightly it made no matter
Not hard enough to make golfers scatter

We'd get in the round - that we could see
The sun came out when we reached number three
The rain moved on with the sun shining too
And off to the west the sky was bright blue

A rainbow formed to the east in the sky
As the clouds over head past us by
We had a good day on the course so it went
That is how the afternoon was spent

Evening came and with friends we had wine
Chardonnay and Cabernet it was all very fine
With friends we had dinner, some Italian food
We talked and joked for that was the mood

Through work and play we had a nice day
Good friends good food and golfing play
Having good friends to drop by to see
I ask you my friends, how lucky can one be

A little freedom goes a long way

After many years went by and the iron fist had ruled
Where rape rooms flourished and torture was common
Where the dictator had his way with all he had fooled
Women were kept ignorant and not allowed to be schooled

It was many a year as a matter of record and of fact
That the people suffered and their families had little
A meager existence, but the leader had millions in tact
Tha's the way it was before America freed Iraq

The people are happy and thankful and most full of joy
Though terrorists are bombing and killing like heathens
The soldiers are making friends with a girl and a boy
And helping them deal with the hateful enemy's ploy

The people are trying, with their freedom new found
To open the stores the hospitals and all the schools
In a country where now the freedom is all around
The future of Iraq, with freedom and liberty unbound

Send me your e-mail to furpets@comcasst.net and I will send
you some awsome pictures that didn't make the Newspapers.

 From the LEFT

From the left coast the Hollywood crowd speaks with a forked tongue. Statement movies, as I call them are packed with falsehoods. The left in Hollywood, which is most of it, tries to influence the movie goer with propaganda. Munich, Steven Spielberg's latest, was all based on lies. He was trying to get the great unwashed to believe that the main character had misgivings about what he had to do. Nothing could be further from the truth. They seem to be out to alter history. Michael Moore should be sent to communist North Korea. He could help them make anti American films. Barbara Streisand should keep her word and move to France, and she should take Ben Affleck with her. These leftists in Hollywood should be using "their" time to help the less fortunate instead of trying to convince us that we should give money to the government and let the government redistribute the wealth. Isn't that what socialism is all about "The redistribution of wealth". God forbid that any of these socialist sympathizers would ever suggest that people should educate themselves, get a job, and stop being a burden on society.

If all the leftists in Hollywood would get together and pool their resources that they wasted on trying to get John Kerry elected and in the previous election, the money they spent trying to get Al, "the empty suit" Gore elected, the interest off that amount of money would probably house and feed America's homeless. They may talk a good story, but they should become doers instead of talkers.
